Jude Lane's Work in The Guardian

Jul 18, 2016

2nd Year DTP student Jude Lane's work on the Gannets of Bass Rock has been featured in today's Guardian - Country Diary. Jude's PhD project is concerned with investigating how the heights of foraging and commuting flight behaviours of gannets vary between the sexes and how they are affected by environmental variables such as wind speed, wind direction and sea state, currently an important knowledge gap. Her work will also play an important role in assessing potential collision risk with proposed offshore wind turbines and the associated population impacts for the Bass Rock colony.
